Terms of Service

Last updated: 2/5/2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Redact.social ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Redact.social provides an automated auditing tool that scans social media profiles for content that may be flagged during US visa application reviews. The Service provides a report highlighting potential risks based on known criteria used by consular officers.

3. No Guarantee of Visa Outcome

IMPORTANT: Redact.social is an informational tool only.

  • We do not guarantee visa approval. Visa decisions are made solely by US Consular Officers and the Department of Homeland Security.
  • We do not provide legal advice. Our reports are based on automated analysis of public guidelines and historical data. We are not a law firm, and our reports should not be considered a substitute for advice from a qualified immigration attorney.
  • We are not affiliated with the US Government. We are a private entity helping applicants navigate public requirements.

Using Redact.social does not ensure that your visa will be granted, nor does it guarantee that you will not face scrutiny during your interview.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when connecting your accounts.
  • Only connect social media accounts that belong to you.
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
  • Take full responsibility for any actions you take based on our reports (e.g., deleting posts).

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Redact.social and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to:

  • Visa denials or delays.
  • Loss of travel opportunities.
  • Legal fees or immigration consequences.
  • Data loss or unauthorized access resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control.

6. 10x Money-Back Guarantee

We stand by the accuracy of our scanning technology. We offer a 10x Money-Back Guarantee under the following strict conditions:

If your US visa application is denied, and the official denial reason cited by the US Department of State or Department of Homeland Security specifically references a piece of social media content (post, comment, image, or interaction) that:

  1. Was included in the data export you uploaded to Redact.social; AND
  2. Was successfully scanned by our system prior to your visa interview; AND
  3. Was explicitly marked as "Safe" or "Low Risk" (Green) in your Redact.social report;

Then we will refund you 10 times (1000%) the amount you paid for that specific scan.

To claim this guarantee, you must provide:

  • Official documentation of the visa denial (e.g., Form 214(b) refusal sheet or other official correspondence) citing the specific social media reason.
  • Proof that the specific content was the cause of denial (e.g., notes from the consular officer or a FOIA request response).
  • A copy of your original Redact.social report showing the content was marked as safe.

This guarantee does NOT cover:

  • Denials based on content you did not upload to us.
  • Denials based on content you posted after your scan was completed.
  • Denials based on content we flagged as "Medium Risk" or "High Risk" which you chose not to delete.
  • Denials for reasons unrelated to social media (e.g., lack of funds, criminal history, insufficient ties to home country).

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Iceland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
